In this life, we will not escape being hurt by others, but we can escape bitterness. One of the last things Jesus said on the cross was, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34). God asks us to forgive and even bless our enemies. Through personal stories and Biblical examples, Melanie shares how to avoid bitterness, how to forgive even when you don’t feel like it or when you think you can’t, and how to approach forgiveness as a spiritual discipline and a path to healing and wholeness.
What do we do when our lives don’t turn out the way we planned or imagined? What do we do when we’ve prayed for God to turn things around and he doesn’t? With compelling honesty and ample doses of encouragement, Melanie merges personal stories with Biblical insight tackling what it looks like to overcome disappointment and doubt.
When trials loom like an impenetrable mountain, and problems press in on every side, how can we find hope and joy in the midst of the pain and hardship? How do we scale the mountain, and is healing possible on the other side? Melanie weaves a Biblical perspective with personal stories of struggle offering insight and encouragement for those facing trials.
